uh huh, panderisms. More like my own personal mannerisms. So, I admit, I tend to over-analyze but whatever, don't judge me. Kind of a random post today, feel as if I have a small tolerance for motivation. I blame the heat. Anyway...I've been wondering lately...about people in general I guess.
So, when you finally induce yourself to new boundaries and friends you've grown to love sooner than later, perhaps more than usual...what do you do? Can one not help but wonder why these people never came around sooner? What about old friends? Do they still feel the same way they did one year ago? Perhaps the norm of what may be valued as friendship and love in the last several months have changed but its mind-boggling that everyone is getting older, getting over and making newer. Not sure if it all makes sense or not but new windows have been opened and its time to take the opportunity for new chapters in life. Choose your doors, seize your days by one at a time, be real and do something in order to make yourself happy. Remind yourself that being selfish is definitely okay once in a while.
However, lately it seems friends and family have been famished for some positive reinforcement. Sometimes I've found it hard to put letters into words to feed my soul. This is why the internet is fabulous. Gives us the chance to look for inspiration vicariously through others. I find that quotes are amazing cuz the badasses that received cite worthy admiration help stimulate the, well to put it simply, over-analyzing, self-worrying, paranoid inhabitants that we are. I think that what goes in your mind has the power to shape what you think, believe and ultimately how you behave. In subliminal motivation, the act of repeating the same affirmation over and over, has the ability to generate amazing changes. Digest these for a bit;
"Challenges are what makes life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful." - J. Marine
"The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time." - Abe Lincoln (see I told you, Abe knows what's up)
"Walk in love, and love your neighbor as you do yourself. Don't harbor unforgiveness in your heart, for if you do, you give the devil a foothold into your life." Luke
"Learn the art of patience. Apply discipline to your thoughts when they become anxious over the outcome of a goal. Impatience breeds anxiety, fear ,discouragement and failure. Patience creates confidence, decisiveness, and a rational outlook, which eventually leads to success." -Anonymous

legacy is greater than currency...
Entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk talks about doing what makes you happy. The synopsis on his speech basically entails how Gary gives a "shot in the arm to dreamers and up-and-comers who face self-doubt. The Internet has made the formula for success simpler than ever, he argues. So there's now no excuse not to do what makes you happy." I've been trying to figure that out lately. I have experienced all different fields of work but I had an epitome recently (go figure, finally right?) that I officially want to work for myself. I've always looked up to my pops as inspiration especially when his best advice was "do anything that makes you happy"...seemed hypocritical as I grew older because he never seemed happy (perhaps I'm wrong since he's so humble and unaffectionate) so I feel like I lost that passion. However, losing my last job has developed a new happiness for me to want to work from home and GEEK out ALL day. Seriously! I love it. Well, I was doing some research tonight and curious to what people's thoughts are on this video. This guy is loud, derogatory, and obnoxious (EAST COASTER WHAT WHAT!) but he seems to tell it like it is. Needless to say, I came across this video contemplating what to blog about tonight when I was seeking inspiration. Ted.com is a great website to look up political videos, specific speakers that pretty much video blog on ideas worth spreading. Anyhow, it's a lengthy video but it kept me interested in listening for more than five minutes. Alot of these videos can be pretty biased and some are pretty boring.

H.O.P.E.
For over a decade, I've devoted myself to one band and I can't honestly see myself ever stopping loving these guys. I've been to over fifty shows in my life time thus far and experienced three 3-11 day shows. Cannot WAIT for 2012, SUPER DOME baby! This past one was incredible in Vegas but will 2012 top it? We'll see. The HOPE organization helps artists support education and peace around the world. On that note, you should definitely check out their blog here.
In this video, not only is Golden Sunlight an amazing song but my homegirl and I are in it. Check out the whole thing, pay attention to first 36 seconds. :)

sick projects
I'm not savvy one bit in the knowledge of architecture but I think I can definitely appreciate a work of art. I noticed these professionals are driven rigorously paying attention to detail. Their work transcends through style, culture, and people. Matt brought home a magazine from his trip and I skimmed through it oblivious to what exactly I was looking for besides these dope, ingenious designs varying in shapes and sizes to looking at it makes living there unimaginable. Check out some I found worth blogging bout. But first here are some links:

Als Designs (aka some gnarly furniture)
